About
James Brune's work in visual art began in 1997 after acquiring his first Nikon FM10 35mm film camera.
Developing an obsession with various forms of photography, Brune has since spent much of his time devoted to capturing the people, shapes and sounds of New York City and its surrounding areas.
His approach to photography is informed - in no small part - by his connection and love for music and urban acoustics, expressed in his 2016 series of compositions entitled 'Sketches Of The City'.
